P442 paid out. No chasing.

P442 is a change to UK electricity trading arrangements that gives generators on RED an additional benefit on each unit they export. When tem gained the ability to backdate that benefit to April 2025, it calculated what Bryn Group had accrued under RED™ and paid it out. No chasing.

£123,000 toward a £220,000 upgrade

The paddle washer had been on the wishlist, but upgrade projects compete with each other. With £123,000 of the £220,000 cost already covered, Bryn Group could move from considering it to placing the order.

Monthly generation, visible for the first time.

Jen checks the tem portal on the 8th or 9th of each month to see total generation. No previous supplier gave her this. Last month, the team set an all-time record: 854 MWh. They track it on a chart on the notice board.

Bryn Group is putting £123,000 of the P442 payment toward a £220,000 paddle washer. Bryn Group pays £167 per tonne to send the plastic to the Cardiff Energy from Waste burner for disposal. A lighter load means a lower bill. Lower disposal costs improve operating margins. Stronger margins mean more competitive pricing when tendering for council food waste contracts.
